System requirements — Windows

Minimum

OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Any 64-bit dual-core
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Any GPU with OpenGL 3.0 / DirectX 11 (integrated is fine)
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 10 GB available space
Sound card: Any (microphone optional for voice chat)
Notes: Supports multiplayer as a guest, or single-player and hosting with optional Cloud AI (internet and credits required). Local AI requires a compatible GPU with at least 12 GB VRAM; see Recommended.

OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core, Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or better
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA with 12 GB VRAM (RTX 3060 12 GB, RTX 4070) or AMD/Intel with 12 GB VRAM
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 10 GB available space
Sound card: Any (microphone optional for voice chat)
Notes: These recommendations are for local AI, which runs on your own machine with no usage fees and supports offline single-player. 12 GB VRAM enables Standard story length, 16 GB adds Double, and more than 16 GB adds Quadruple. Optional Cloud AI requires internet and credits, but does not require the VRAM needed by the local model.

System requirements — macOS

Minimum

OS: macOS 11.0 Big Sur or later
Processor: Apple Silicon or Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Metal-capable (built-in)
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 10 GB available space
Sound card: Any (microphone optional for voice chat)
Notes: Optional Cloud AI enables single-player and hosting without running the local AI model (internet and credits required). Local AI requires a compatible Apple Silicon Mac; see Recommended. Multiplayer guests do not run the AI model.

OS: macOS 12.0 or later
Processor: Apple Silicon (M1 Pro / M2 or later)
Memory: 24 GB RAM
Graphics: Apple Silicon GPU (Metal)
Storage: 10 GB available space
Sound card: Any (microphone optional for voice chat)
Notes: These recommendations are for local AI. Unified memory is shared with the GPU, so roughly 70% is available to the AI. 18 GB is the practical floor, 24 GB is comfortable, and 32 GB or more enables the longest story lengths. Local AI supports offline single-player with no usage fees. Optional Cloud AI requires internet and credits, but does not require the memory needed by the local model.

System requirements — Linux / Steam OS

Minimum

OS: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS 64-bit or newer
Processor: Any 64-bit dual-core
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Any GPU with OpenGL 3.0
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 10 GB available space
Sound card: Any (microphone optional for voice chat)
Notes: Supports multiplayer as a guest, or single-player and hosting with optional Cloud AI (internet and credits required). Local AI requires a compatible GPU with at least 12 GB VRAM; see Recommended. The Steam Deck’s shared memory falls below this local AI requirement.

OS: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS 64-bit or newer
Processor: Quad-core, Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or better
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA with 12 GB VRAM (proprietary driver) or AMD with 12 GB VRAM (Vulkan)
